WHAT GOT YOU STARTED?

TOBY I first started with BMX riding in my teenage years and moved on to road cycling in 2012. Cycling is a social sport, and I found myself cycling a lot with my friends and clients over time. Even on a social ride, cycling is a highly competitive sport, and I love how free I feel on a bike. Wind in your face and not a care in the world.

I took the next step to join a race team in Sydney and brought the same spirit over to Singapore, where I also race. The camaraderie between cyclists is a real motivator – you make so many lasting friendships. Plus, you get to explore places you usually wouldn't go – I think I've seen every part of Singapore from my bike rides.

MARK I used to be overweight, and my family encouraged me to sign up for a 10km race as an impetus to train and lose weight. The longest I ever ran before that was 5km! Once I started hitting the tracks, I found myself liking running and that 10km race got me completely hooked. One thing led to another, and before long, I was taking on more marathon and ultra-marathon races.

WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING?

TOBY I love being fit, and cycling is a low impact sport for your joints and overall body. It is quite motivating as you see yourself getting stronger each week. The competitiveness of cycling is something I really enjoy; just racing against your friends or in an actual road race is exhilarating, especially when you win.

NICHOLAS Being able to inspire, help and train people to get in great shape while smashing their fitness goals! My training regime doesn't solely focus on losing weight. Instead, it combines Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu and our very own system, 'APEX fusion' – a mix of strength and cardio training.

MARK I never fail to feel very centred and energised after a run. I was really inspired by my dad to start running. He's not a runner but was Singapore's squash champion in his heyday. He instilled in me a love for sports and staying active when I was growing up.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO MANTRA WHEN YOU'RE WORKING OUT?

NICHOLAS "Fall in love with the process of being the best version of yourself." I would give this piece of advice to someone who's just starting out in their fitness journey!

MARK "Motion is lotion" I always feel better mentally and physically after working out.

WHAT IS YOUR NEXT MILESTONE/ GOAL IN YOUR JOURNEY WITH YOUR SPORT?

TOBY I have got a place in next years 100km race at the Ultra-Trail Mont Blanc (UTMB). To most ultra-marathoners, if not all, the UTMB races are the holy grail of the sport.  Everest on a bike. Training for it will start with finding a hill and ascending and descending it as quickly as you can, climbing a total of 8,848 metres (the elevation of Mount Everest).

WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE ITEM FROM THE NEW COLLECTION YOU'VE TRIED? WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT IT?
Elevate 6" Lined Shorts Shorts Kydra #colour_navy

Resurge Muscle Tee in particular. I love this collection; the breathable material doesn't make me sweat much in this humid climate and feels so lightweight. I prefer long fitting tees, so I can wear this both on the bike and casually at the gym.

Apex Curved Hem Tee tees Kydra

The Apex Curved Hem Tee. It's so comfortable and soft on the skin. I can do explosive movements with the 30kg dead ball with ease, and most importantly, the tee doesn't stick to my body when I'm drenched in sweat.

The Bolt 4" Lined Shorts II – it's fantastic for running. They fit really well and were very comfortable. The Kyro Lite inner liner is so supportive and breathable. I don't feel trapped when it dries so quickly, especially on the road.
